Alexander John was the first US male admitted to membership in ISST/STA. He is known for asking the question in those early days: “Where is the masculine” (outer and inner)?

As part of his extensive training, he has directly studied with many luminaries including Joseph Campbell, John Sanford and Morten Kelsey, decades of Jungian analysis and dreamwork, a month-long intensive in Switzerland with Dora M. Kalff (1989), coursework with ISST founding members Estelle Weinrib (New York), Claudio Rìse (Milan, Italy), Agnes Bailey, (London, UK & Connecticut) and on-going group consultation with Kay Bradway (Sausalito, CA).

He also co-chaired an internationally attended Sandplay Conference “On the Masculine” held in San Francisco in 1994.

Soon, he hopes to re-create his office and be able to again offer Sandplay therapy for individuals as well as for therapists wishing a certified process.
